The $15 minimum wage bill, which advanced from the Senate Labor Committee earlier this week, was released today from the Assembly Labor Committee by a vote of 6 to 3. Working Families United for New Jersey, Inc. applauds the members of the Assembly Labor Committee who voted in favor of this important bill that calls for a gradual phase-in of the $15 minimum wage in New Jersey.

Supportive testimony from our coalition partners provided legislators with a clear picture of how this legislation would benefit New Jersey’s hard working families, and we appreciate all those who came out to show their support.

Our coalition also thanks the Assembly bill’s primary sponsors, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, Assemblyman John Wisniewski and Assemblyman Gary Schaer. We once again thank Assembly Labor Committee Chair Joseph Egan for posting the bill in his committee.
